Stars and Ducks Tied at Two Heading Into Game Five Friday Night

Game five of the Western Conference first-round between the Stars and the Ducks will be played at the Honda Center on Friday night. Anaheim had a 2-0 lead in the series, but Dallas has won two straight to tie things up at two. Now, the Stars look for the pivotal game five win on the road to take the 3-2 lead. We like Dallas on the road as they move closer to a series win.

Stars headed for 3-2 series lead

The Stars almost missed the Western Conference playoffs, needing until the final days of the regular-season to clinch a playoff berth. Then, they found themselves down 2-0 in the first two games of this series. Now, they have an incredible opportunity to take a 3-2 series lead if they can win a third straight game over Anaheim, which is reeling on and off the ice. Dallas will need to get on the board early and find a way to keep Anaheim at bay if they want to win this game.

Ducks injured at the wrong time

Anaheim has suffered some unfortunate injuries recently, with two-thirds of their top line dealing with ailments. Captain Ryan Getzlaf missed game four due to an upper-body injury, and does not seem ready to be back in the lineup for game five on Friday night. Teemu Selanne was scratched for game four, and might not play tonight either. Goalie Kari Lehtonen has looked shaky at best in the last two games, both losses.

We find the betting odds for tonight’s Ducks and Stars contest from Anaheim over at Bovada.lv, where the Ducks are favored. We think tonight will be a major offensive game for both teams, which is why we will drop 10 percent of our bankroll on the Stars and the OVER 5.5 total goals scored at +115 as they take the all-important 3-2 series lead.
