Super Bowl XLVII: Bovada Sportsbook Prop Betting Options

Can you feel the momentum building? We sure can! Super Bowl XLVII is less than 72 hours away as the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens are set to battle in the Bayou for the NFL World Championship.

Proposition betting has become a huge part of the betting experience on Super Bowl Sunday. Today we take a look at a slightly modified prop wagering option being offered at the online sportsbook.

Will either team score four unanswered times in the game?

We were surprised to see this prop betting option at the Bovada online sportsbook as this wager has always been worded as “Will either team score three straight times” in past Super Bowls. One can only assume that the bookmakers got tired of getting beat on this bet as a team posted three unanswered scores in 32 of the past 46 contests. Plus, it happened in 12 of the last 17 games.

Super Bowl Betting Trends: Four straight scores prop wagering prediction

A team has posted four straight scores 15 times in Super Bowl history. Further to that, the feat has been accomplished just three times in the past 19 games and hasn’t happened in five straight Super Bowls. Baltimore allowed four straight scores to the Texans in Week 7 and the Browns in Week 9. San Francisco allowed four consecutive scores just once – to the Patriots in Week 15.

Bovada has YES as the underdog option at +275 and NO as the favorite with a -350 wagering line. While this almost seems like a “sucker bet” Baltimore and San Francisco both play above average defense. As such, our prediction is NO to four unanswered scores on this prop bet at Bovada.
