AFC South Division: NFL 2013 Championship Futures Odds

National Football League action is back and we love it! Week 1 preseason action closes with the Buffalo Bills vs. Indianapolis Colts contest today. Since were not fans of preseason wagering we’ll pass on this battle.

Instead, today we look at the futures betting odds to capture the AFC South Division that are posted at the sportsbook.com wagering website. The Houston Texans are listed as top chalk to repeat as the winners in the AFC South – over Andrew Luck and the upstart Colts.

Houston Texans: Top chalk to repeat as AFC South Champs

After winning the AFC South regular season title for a second straight year, the Houston Texans are looking for a three-peat and they are posted as top chalk with a -200 futures price. Being as they boast one of the most well-rounded teams in the entire NFL, this seems like a fairly decent price. Led by Pro Bowl RB Arian Foster on offense and J.J. Watt the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year on defense, the Texans should match the 12 wins they posted during the 2012 campaign.

Indianapolis Colts: Look for more Luck as top choice to challenge Houston

Following what can only be described as dream 2012 NFL regular season in Indianapolis, the Colts have been posted as the second favorite (+240) to win the AFC South. Despite the leukemia scare faced by head coach Chuck Pagano and because rookie QB Andrew Luck played with the poise of a seasoned veteran, the Colts galloped into the AFC playoffs as a Wild Card entry. Their 11-5 record last year was a huge improvement on the 2-14 mark they posted during the 2011 NFL season.

Tennessee Titans & Jacksonville Jaguars set to battle for the AFC South Division cellar

With more questions than answers surrounding their respective clubs, Tennessee and Jacksonville are huge long-shots to challenge for top spot in the American Football Conference South Division. With Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jake Locker and Rusty Smith battling for the starting quarterback role, the Titans have a +900 line at sportsbook.com. The Jaguars, the worst franchise in the NFL, have the steepest price to win any division as the Kittens are posted with astronomical +3000 odds.

Sportsbook Review Prediction: Load up on Houston (-200 ML) to win the AFC South!
