Game Total Over/Under NFL 2011 Betting Facts

Set at 59.5 points, the Game Total for this contest is the highest it’s been this year. The regular season high was 55.5 points on the Paitriots vs Raiders Week 4 match-up, and the Saints vs Lions game back in Week 13 – both games went UNDER the total.

A total of 29 games had their Game Total set at 50 points or more during the 2011 NFL season. Of those contests 17 of them went over the number while 12 stayed under the game total. 34 games saw 60 or more points scored and the Saints or Lions were involved in a whopping eleven of them.

Wild Card Playoff Betting Lines Saints vs Lions

We feel as though Detroit is going to regret not putting away the Green Bay Packers during NFL Week 17 action. A trip to New Jersey to face the NY Giants would have been a much easier task.

These two teams last met in Week 13 action when New Orleans scored a 31-17 win over Detroit. The Saints could have scored 62 points in that game as they are lethal under the Dome.

With quarterbacks Drew Brees and Matthew Stafford hooking up against each other, their 10,514 combined passing yards during the NFL 2011 season will be the most by any QB combo in NFL playoff history. Brees and Peyton Manning held the previous record at 8,888 in Super Bowl XLIV.

Detroit should get FS Louis Delmas, the heart and soul of their defense, back here. Delmas, along with RB Kevin Smith and the monster, DT Ndamukong Suh, all missed the Week 13 match-up.

Other than the Packers, the Lions are the one team that can score with the Saints. We expect the Detroit will put points on the board – we just don’t see them matching the Saints score for score.

New Orleans must be looking forward, at least a little, to the Green Bay Packers re-match during the NFC Championship. They won’t be reckless with any player’s health in this one. Once the Saints get up 34-17 or so, we can see the Lions swooping in for a backdoor cover with a TD late in the contest.
