Patriots vs. Dolphins: NFL Monday Night Football Betting

NFL Monday Night Football betting is back as the New England Patriots face the Miami Dolphins in South Beach tonight. New England has owned the AFC East for the better part of the past decade. The Patriots finished 14-2 last season before tanking in the playoffs.

The Dolphins have been in a perpetual “rebuilding” mode over the same time period and they finished with a 7-9 record last season. Our Free Pick points to the Patriots pounding the Dolphins in this one!

Patriots @ Dolphins MNF Game Day Preview

Kickoff for this Monday Night Football betting action is scheduled  for Monday, September 12, 2011, at 7:00 PM ET  from Sun Life Stadium in a somewhat storm Miami Gardens, Florida.

When the Patriots and Dolphins last met, in Week 17 last season, New England and QB Tom Brady shredded Miami to the tune of a 38-7 win. Brady played a little more than half the game in that contest passing for 199 yards and two touchdowns while extending his interception free streak to 11 straight games.

On the other side of the coin, Dolphins QB Chad Henne was totally ineffective (6-16 77 yards 1 INT) and was yanked in favor of Tyler Thigpen. Miami broke the goose egg with 2:11 left in the contest on a 21 yard TD pass from Tyler Thigpen to Davone Bess with most of the Patriots starters on the bench.

Dolphins vs Patriots MNF Betting Lines

In Week Four last season the Patriots waxed the Dolphins in Miami by a 41-14 score thanks largely to New England scoring twice on special teams and a Patrick Chung 51 yard TD interception return. We expect more of the same tonight – even with stormy weather in the forecast.

QB Henne versus QB Brady just about says it all in this contest. One is a Hall of Fame quarterback, while the other probably won’t last the full NFL 2011 season as a starter.

Miami CB Vontae Davis has been boasting about the Dolphins having the best cornerback tandem in the league. While they are good, they won’t be good enough tonight, as we see Tom Brady & Co. cruising to an easy victory.
