NFL Week 8 Washington vs Pittsburgh Best Bet Wagering Lines

Scanning the big betting boards at our favorite online wagering websites, one thought keep popping up; the National Football League Week 8 schedule is a difficult card to read. We did however find one gem in the mix.

NFL Sunday action features the Washington Redskins in Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. This inter-conference action has its kickoff slated for 1:00 PM ET on October 28, 2012, from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA.

Washington Redskins: Regroup after tough divisional loss

Sitting at 3-4 their record may not show it but this Washington Redskins team has been one of the more explosive units during the NFL 2012 campaign. Redksins QB Robert Griffin III has burst onto the NFL stage in a big way and he’s one of the top pivots in the league during his rookie season.

Dangerous with his arm and his feet, RG3 has created quite a stir and, while we’ve never been big on “gimmick” quarterbacks, he has created problems for every defense he has faced this season. Throw in bruising rookie running back Alfred Morris (4.8 yards per carry) and it’s easy to see why the Redskins are averaging close to 29 points per game half way through NFL 2012 campaign.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Jekyll & Hyde season continues in the Steel City

Win one – then lose one. That’s the way the 2012 NFL season has gone for the Pittsburgh Steelers through their first six games. The last four weeks have been particularly difficult to figure out as the Steelers dropped contests to Tennessee and Oakland by a 54-70 combined count and have defeated Philadelphia and Cincinnati by a 40-31 final score.

Betting against Pittsburgh in this contest comes with one major concern as this contest features an obvious strength versus weakness match-up. Washington is dead last in pass defense and they are facing QB Ben Roethlisberger who guides the Steelers 6th ranked aerial attack.

Trend bettors won’t like this match-up very much as these two clubs have not battled since the 2008 NFL season. In addition to the mismatch in the passing game, we are also slightly concerned by the fact that the Redskins are playing on the road for a second straight weekend.

Checking in at the bovada.lv online sports wagering website, we find the Steelers as home chalk with a -4.5 point spread and -220 ML. The Redskins are road dogs with a +180 money line while the Over/Under is posted at 46 points. Give us Washington and the +4.5 points and don’t be surprised if the RG3 and his DC Crew win this road contest outright.
