NFL Week 16 Schedule: Bears vs. Packers Prediction

If you are like us, the Christmas morning celebrations are over, Christmas dinner was awesome, and you’re ready to settle in for some football. With the bulk of the NFL Week 16 action already in the books, we preview the Green Bay Packers hosting the Chicago Bears.

Kickoff, for the NFL’s longest running rivalry at 184 games, has the Packers and Bears scheduled for Sunday, December 25, 2011, at 8:20 PM ET from legendary Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

NFL Game Day Preview: Bears @ Packers NFC North Action

Green Bay (13-1 OA 6-0 Home) had their undefeated streak snapped at 19 straight wins as they lost 19-14 to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium is Week 15 action. We were always of the belief that Packers didn’t give a damn about a perfect season and we think the loss is a good thing. Out of the next eight quarters of Packers football, we would be surprised to see the first team offense play more than five or six of them. Rest and Repeat is the current mantra in Green Bay.

Chicago (7-7 OA 2-4 Road) has been in free fall since losing starting QB Jay Cutler, and then RB Matt Forte, as the Bears have lost four straight – after a five game winning streak. QB Josh McCown receives the worst Christmas gift ever as he’s been thrust into the starting role and will be facing an ornery bunch of Packers. We expect a lot of handoffs to RB Kahill Bell in this one as McCowan has thrown eight passes in four seasons. It adds up to no fluke playoff run for the Yogi’s this season.

NFL Week 16 Wagering Odds: Chicago vs. Green Bay Free Pick

BetOnline and their fantastic online sportsbook is where we head for tonight’s Green Bay vs. Chicago Free Pick wagering lines. The bookmakers at BetOnline are expecting a blowout as they haven’t posted money line odds for this “Norris” Division action. We agree with that sentiment.

NFL 2011 Week 16 Beting Lines Bears vs Packers

A Green Bay victory cinches a Lambeau home field advantage for the Packers in the NFC Playoffs. If Chicago’s patchwork offense can pull off the upset, the Bears still have an outside shot as at a Wild Card spot in the postseason party. Sorry Chicago – not this year!

If perfection was still looming, Green Bay would have been forced to play their starters right through Week 17. Now the Packers can pound on the Bears for three quarters, take a few swipes at the Lions next weekend, and then rest up as they get set to repeat as Champions in Super Bowl XLIV come February. A 37-6 Packers win seems about right here!
