National Football League Week 11 Betting Lines Update

While not overly common in today’s parity friendly NFL atmosphere, double digit spreads still seem to pop up on a weekly basis each season. Through ten weeks of the schedule, bookmakers have posted 14 monster lines and the pups have covered in eight of them.

Each of the 14 lines have favored the home team and they have a 12-1-1  S/U record. Let’s take a look at the Week 11 offerings and put together a value bet.

Houston Texans boast largest betting line of the week

Romping through their 2012 NFL schedule, the Houston Texans have already been double digit chalk three times (-13 twice -11) and they have covered each of those contests. They join Green Bay as owners of the biggest line of the year to date as they host the Jacksonvile Jaguars with as -15.5 home favorites. Somewhat Ironically, the Jags were the dogs to the Packers as well and they put a spirited fight as they lost by just nine points. They won’t fair any better in this one.

Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots push double digit barrier

While the Texans are the only three score favorites, Atlanta and New England are pushing towards a big number. The Falcons and Patriots are both -9.5 chalk as they host the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts in their respective home stadiums. The Falcons beat the Oakland Raiders but just by three points as -10 chalk. New England is 0-3 as double digit favorites and they are the only team that’s lost outright after Arizona defeated them 20-18 in Week 2 as -13.5 dogs.
