Broncos vs Ravens NFL Divisional Championship Wagering Lines

While NFL playoff action is usually fantastic, with the eight best teams still standing, we always look forward to the compelling postseason contests that play out during the Divisional Championship Weekend.

Second round AFC playoff action kicks off with the Denver Broncos hosting the Baltimore Ravens at 4:25 PM ET on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from a rocking Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, CO.

Denver Broncos: Manning magic is rolling in the Rockies

After using the back door to sneak into the 2011 postseason party, with an 8-8 record, Denver kicked in the front door this year as the Broncos posted a 13-3 mark and secured home field advantage during the AFC playoffs. Bringing QB Peyton Manning to Denver has paid off in spades as the Broncos scored 107 more points this season and their passing TD total went from 20 to 32.

Denver was also better on defense as they ranked third against both the pass and run and they allowed 101 less points this season. In their first Divisional playoff game since 2005, the Broncos were pummeled 45-10 in New England last season. Manning will be playing in the eighth second round playoff game of his storied career after he went 3-4 as the Indianapolis Colts QB.

Baltimore Ravens: In the AFC Divisional playoffs for a fifth straight season

Baltimore put away the Indianapolis Colts with a 24-9 home win during the Wild Card Weekend action –  now they have a date in Denver with the Broncos. The Ravens will play in the Divisional playoff round for the sixth time in seven years and a fifth straight. Dating back to the 2006 NFL season the Ravens own a 2-3 S/U record and they are 1-4 ATS in Divisional playoff games.

Despite two fumbles by All-World running back Ray Rice, and the fact that they gave up 419 total yards, Baltimore managed to get by Indianapolis. The Ravens defense bent but didn’t break as they held the Colts to just three field goals last weekend. Baltimore will need a better effort on both sides of the ball if they plan to get out of Denver with a win – we don’t see that happening.
