Nationals Look for Series Split with East Rival Braves at Home Sunday

It seems as though no team from the NL East wants to take control of things and run away with the division. Atlanta, after being swept at home by Philadelphia, took the first two games of this four-game set with Washington. They then laid an egg on Saturday, dropping game three by a score of 3-0. The Nationals can salvage a split with Atlanta on Sunday afternoon as we place our bet on the Nats grabbing the victory.

Nationals need a split to keep lead in East

With their win in game three, the Nationals moved back in front of the Braves for first in the East by a half-game. They can extend that lead with a win on Sunday afternoon as Tanner Roark takes the mound looking for a fourth straight win. He is 3-1 in the month of June and 6-4 overall with a 2.85 ERA. Anthony Rendon has loved facing Braves pitchers, hitting .357 in his last seven games at home against Atlanta.

Braves can regain lead with a series victory

After winning the first two games, the Braves moved into first place. By dropping game three, they were jettisoned from that spot. Well, they can re-gain the top spot in the East with a third win in four games on Sunday afternoon. Ervin Santana will take the ball today with a 5-4 record and 4.12 ERA. In his first six starts with Atlanta, Santana had an ERA of 1.99. In his last seven, it has ballooned to 6.17.

Our bet will be placed at Sportsbook.ag on Sunday for the game featuring the Braves and the Nationals from the District of Columbia. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on the Nationals and the -1.5 (+157) spread as they salvage a series split with the Braves and extend their lead in the National League East to 1.5 games.
