Mariners Holding Firm in AL Wild Card Hunt with Visit to Indians

The Mariners and the Indians are playoff hopefuls this season, with Seattle closest to a playoff spot. The Mariners are just three games out of a Wild Card spot in the American League despite sitting 11 games out of first in the AL West. Cleveland is 6.5 games out of first in the AL Central and five games out of first in the Wild Card. We are going to back veteran Chris Young and the Mariners on the road today.

Mariners need Young to relive his younger days

Seattle will need Chris Young and his veteran knowhow to pitch like he used to early in his career if they want to stay in the Wild Card race the rest of this season and possibly grab a playoff spot. Young is having a strong season so far, boasting a record of 9-6 an an impressive ERA of 3.04. In his last start, Young threw seven scoreless innings against the Orioles in a 4-3 win, one of his best starts of the season.

Indians look to build off Kluber shutout tonight

Corey Kluber threw a complete game shutout on Wednesday night against the Mariners, recording eight strikeouts and allowing just three hits. Coming off the shutout, the Indians will look to take the rubber match of this series and hold strong in both of their playoff races. They will send struggling righty Zach McAllister to the mound tonight. He is 3-6 with a 5.65 ERA.

When the Indians and the Mariners meet for game three of their series on Thursday night we will place our bets at Bovada.lv. We are going to bet 10 percent of our bankroll on Seattle and the OVER 8.5 total runs scored at -115 as they win this game and the series. Seattle needs to win this series in order to keep pace in the AL Wild Card race.
