Last Two National Champions Meet in Sweet 16 as Kentucky and Louisville Collide

In what should be one of the more hotly contested games on Friday night, the Louisville Cardinals take on the Kentucky Wildcats at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indiana. These are the last two national champions, so tonight should be a wild game for all those in attendance. We like the four-seed Cardinals in their pursuit of a second straight title.

Cardinals still fighting for another title

After bringing home the hardware last year, the Cardinals are just four wins away from a second consecutive national title. Louisville has taken a very different route to its success compared to Kentucky. The Cardinals have built a roster that has stuck around for multiple seasons en route to a whole lot of success and fun. Seven players remain from last year’s national title team at Louisville.

Wildcats looking for two titles in three years

Kentucky is going for its second national title in the last three years and will need to defeat an experienced Louisville team in order to keep that dream alive. The Wildcats use the one-and-done system and use it very well. Winning the national title in 2013 behind Anthony Davis brought more success to the program. This year has been a bit of a struggle with five freshman in the lineup. But, this team has grown up quickly, taking down previously undefeated Wichita State to keep their season alive.

We find the betting odds for tonight’s Sweet 16 game between Louisville and Kentucky over at SportsBetting.ag, where the Cardinals are four-point favorites to advance to the Elite Eight over the Wildcats. This is a dream matchup for sports fans, but we wish it would have come even deeper into the tournament. Nonetheless, we will drop 10 percent of our bankroll on the Cardinals as we lay the line for Louisville’s defense of their title.
