Battle of L.A. Resumes on Monday as Angels and Dodgers Meet for Quick Set

It is possible that 2014 is the year we see an all L.A. World Series. The Angels are just one game off the pace in the AL West while the Dodgers lead the NL West by two games. Both of these teams will fight for division titles this year due to varying factors. When these two teams meet for the first of just two games Monday night, we will back the visiting Angels with the victory.

Garrett Richards aiming for 12th win of year

Richards has an impressive record of 11-4 and an ERA of 2.74 in what has been a remarkable season so far for the righty. He struggled in each of his previous two starts, allowing four runs in each game for the first time since April 25-30. Richards will look to pull the Angels into a first-place tie in the AL West if the Athletics lost their game to the Rays on Monday night.

Zack Greinke losing Cy Young battle to teammate

Greinke, 12-6 with a 2.65 ERA, would be at the top of the NL Cy Young discussion if it weren’t for rotation mate Clayton Kershaw. In his last start, Greinke struck out 13 hitters against the Atlanta Braves. He will look to keep the Dodgers on top of the NL West with a victory on Monday night. This is a short series, just two games, so both teams will look to grab the upper hand in the battle of Los Angeles.

On Monday night, the Angels and the Dodgers will meet for what should be an incredibly exciting series. We will place our bets at BetOnline.ag, where the Dodgers are favored at home. Even though the Dodgers are home chalk, we like the Angels in this contest. We will drop 10 percent of our bankroll on the Angels and the OVER 6.5 total runs scored at +110 on Monday night.
