Orioles send Chen to the mound to open set

Baltimore will ask Wei-Yin Chen to tame the red-hot Oakland offense on Friday night when the A’s come to town for the first of three games this weekend. Chen is 6-2 this season, but has an ERA of 4.26. Chen has started just three games in his career against the A’s, but has won all three of those contests. He has allowed just one earned run in those three starts, which cover 20.2 innings pitched in those starts.

Athletics offense one of best in the league

Oakland has scored 309 runs this season, just two fewer than the Blue Jays offense, putting them at number two in the Majors for the best offense. They own a run differential of +120, by far the best in the Major Leagues. Lefty Tommy Milone will take the mound with his 3-3 record and 3.60 ERA. He took a no-decision in his last start, which was an 11-3 win over the Angels.

We find the betting odds for tonight’s Athletics and Orioles contest from Baltimore over at SportsBetting.ag, where the visiting A’s are favored to win. Despite being the underdogs tonight, we like the host Orioles to grab the win because of Chen’s track record against the Athletics. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on the Orioles and the UNDER nine total runs scored at -115 as they grab game one of this series.
