Lions vs. Argonauts Odds: CFL Week 5 Finale Game Day Call

As the late great John Lennon so eloquently sang these are strange days indeed! That about sums up the 2013 CFL schedule as it’s played out to date. Don’t get us wrong, we’d love to have pro football action everyday!

We went back to the 2008 CFL season and couldn’t find a single Tuesday game and this year there are two of them! The BC Lions and Argonauts are set to clash at 7:30 PM ET on July 30, 2013, from the Rogers Center.

BC Lions: Off to a rather quiet 3-1 CFL 2013 season start

Kind of lost in vapors of the hot starts by the 5-0 Saskatchewan Roughriders and the 4-1 Calgary Stampeders, the British Columbia Lions have opened their season with a 3-1 record. Top chalk to capture Grey Cup 101 back in the preseason, the Lions 44-32 Week 1 loss in Calgary pushed BC down on the favorites list. The Leo’s began their current three game winning streak with a 24-16 home win over the Argonauts in Week 2 CFL action. Defense has been the name of the game for the Lions as they have allowed an average of just 13.3 PPG during their recent winning run.

Toronto Argonauts: Loss of QB Ricky Ray a critcal blow to the Boatmen

Anyone who needs more proof that Canadians are some of the politest people on the planet needs to look no further than the kind gesture Toronto made to BC this weekend. Rather than making the Lions guess who would start under center, the Argonauts announced that QB Ricky Ray would not suit up for this contest – three days in advance. Add in the fact that Boatmen will also be without their top tailback, Chad Kackert, and Toronto appears to be in a heap of trouble. The Argos (2-2) are also green on defense as they have given up an average of 29 PPG to start the season.

British Columbia vs. Toronto Wagering Lines & Sportsbook Review Game Day Call

With those key Toronto injuries looming large, the oddsmakers held off on posting the lines for this contest as long as they could. Some books have opted to leave this game off their betting board all together. One website that has posted prices for this CFL West vs. East battle is 5Dimes.com as they have the BC Lions as road chalk at -4 (-110) ATS while the Over/Under is set at 50.5 (-110) points. Straight the BC Lions are -235 while the Argonauts get a generous +190 home dog money line. Give us the road favorite Leo’s outright over the Boatmen with the -4 point price!
