Roughriders vs Eskimos Tilt Closes Out CFL Week Two Schedule

Grand Old Taylor Field will be rocking to its foundation as the Saskatchewan Roughriders celebrate their 2012 CFL home opener by hosting the Edmonton Eskimos, along with a huge party on the Prairies tonight!

The Green Riders are coming off a dominant win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last weekend. Game day is on Sunday, July 8, at 7:00 PM ET from Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

After Rouging Up Ticats – Riders Celebrate Home Opener

Fresh off a 43-16 annihilation of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, on the road during Week One action, the Saskatchewan Roughriders return to Regina to open the home portion of their 2012 regular season schedule. Rider Pride and watermelons will be plentiful as some of the most raucous party people on the planet hail from the Queen City.

Despite many pundits picking the Riders to finish last in the West, Darian Durant & Co. registered five touchdowns in the Steel City last weekend. Don’t forget, this Saskatchewan club is just one year removed from playing in the 98th Grey Cup Championship Final back in 2010.

Edmonton Rolls Into Regina Riding Week One Win Over The Argonauts

Far less impressive, though winners none the less, the Eskimos roll into Regina coming off a 19-15 opening day home win against Toronto. The Boatmen outplayed Edmonton as the Argonauts out gained the Green and Gold by a 375 to 304 total yard count on offense. However, Edmonton topped the Argos in the field goal battle by a 4-2 count.

When one considers that the Roughriders offense posted 511 total yards in Week One, it’s easy to understand that Eskimos QB Steven Jyles & Crew need to kick it up a notch today. We don’t think they have the horses to do it. Rider Pride will roll on as Gang Green heads to 2-0 start.
