Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs: NHL Game Day Preview

Carolina (9-18-4) comes into this contest on the back end of a near cross Canada road trip. In their last four games, (three straight on the road) the Hurricanes have giving up just over 34 shots per game. The ‘Canes are just 2-7-1 in their last ten contests – Roadies can do that to you.

Toronto (15-11-3) has cooled a bit recently but they know ho to put the puck in the net as they sit sixth overall in NHL scorring. The Maples Leafs are 1-3-1 in their last five games and 5-4-1 their last ten. We don’t see Carolina being able to keep up the Buds here.

Boston (18-9-1) has cooled some since their 15 game unbeaten streak was snapped as they have lost two of three contests. The Bruins got past their mini streak with a 5-3 win over Columbus on Saturday night. Boston is two points out of first in the NHL Eastern Conference.

Los Angeles (13-12-4) after making multiple free agent signings in the off season, is not having the year that many pundits penciled them in for. New Kings bench boss John Stevens gets thrown into the fire in Beantown against the bruising Bruins.
