Major League Baseball Thursday Handicapping Trends and Tips

With the Major League Baseball playoff stretch run in high gear, we found a couple of intriguing match-ups on the MLB Thursday betting board. First up we get the Braves vs Padres at 7:10 PM ET from Turner Field.

Shortly after, at 8:15 PM ET, the St. Louis Cardinals host the Arizona Diamondbacks from Busch Stadium on August 16, 2012. We like Atlanta to fry the Friars, and the Cards to take flight on the D-backs.

Atlanta Braves vs. San Diego Padres

Atlanta (68-49) comes into contest chasing the Washington Nationals for the top spot in the NL East and have posted a 7-3 recent record. Despite sitting with a 52-67 record, and double digits out of the NL West playoff race, the San Diego Padres are one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Friars have rolled to a 7-3 recent record but have dropped two straight to the Braves.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

As they did during their 2011 MLB World Series Championship run, the St. Louis Cardinals (64-53) will have to go the Wild Card route if they hope to make it to the 2012 MLB postseason party. The Cards are currently tied with the Pirates for the second WC berth. The D-backs (58-59) have been up and down all season and are playing their 13th road game in 16 days – that’s nasty!
